PBAT
Plastic products are widely used in various fields of the national economy, such as the packaging industry and disposable products industry, to human production and life has brought great convenience. However, its huge use and waste has led to increasingly serious environmental pollution - "white pollution", including river pollution, farmland mulch pollution, and Marine plastic pollution.
The production capacity of PBAT is the third largest biodegradable plastic after starch-based plastics and PLA, which can be decomposed into environmentally harmless substances in natural environmental conditions, and is considered to be one of the effective ways to solve the problem of plastic pollution.
PBAT, the Chinese name is called polyterephthalate-butyl adipate, according to the source of biodegradable plastics can be divided into bio-based biodegradable materials and petrochemical biodegradable materials,PBAT belongs to petrochemical biodegradable plastics.
PBAT is prepared from 1, 4-butanediol (BDO), adipic acid (AA), terephthalic acid (PTA) or diol terephthalate (DMT) as raw materials by direct esterification or transesterification.
PBAT is a semi-crystalline polymer, usually the crystallization temperature is around 110℃, the melting point is about 130℃, the density is between 1.18g/ml~1.3g/ml, the crystallinity is about 30%, and the Shore hardness is above 85. It has the characteristics of both PBA and PBT, and has good ductility and elongation at break, as well as good heat resistance and impact properties.
Where is PBAT used?
PBAT belongs to petroleum-based biodegradable plastics, which is one of the most active biodegradable materials in the research of biodegradable plastics and one of the best degradable materials in the market. It is an important fist product in the world to "eliminate white pollution", and is also the "best partner" for any other fully biodegradable materials in the modification of materials. PBAT can be processed by injection molding, extrusion, blow molding and other forms, and is widely used in the production of sheet, film, packaging and foam materials, and can also be used in medical materials, optoelectronic chemistry, fine chemical industry and other fields by modification.
